Prosthetics & 3D printing
The combination of prosthetics, design and 3D printing at ZČU has brought new possibilities for the production of prosthetic hands
The aim of the interdisciplinary project, in which the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen collaborated with the Deggendorf University of Technology, was to develop new shape, design and 3D printing processes for the production of an external bed for a myoelectric upper limb prosthesis.
The combination of three different disciplines at three different faculties of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen (ZČU) showed new possibilities for the production of an external bed for a myoelectric hand prosthesis. The interdisciplinary international project Research Innovations in Prosthetics, in which the Pilsen team collaborated with colleagues from the Deggendorf Technical University, examined 3D printing as a method for producing a prosthetic hand and showed new possibilities for design and engineering.
